Looking for that contemporary art print you know your loved one's keen on? We can help if you want to buy a print by Eduardo Paolozzi or Alfred Cohen. Whilst Cohen was American, they've both come to represent a slice of classic Post war British art.

Buying a Paolozzi print

Eduardo Paolozzi is one of a few British artists who reached international prominence just after WW2. He made his mark as was one of the most innovative and energetic artists of his era. Primarily a sculptor, he also established himself as a highly respected printmaker. His collage style silk screen images feature amongst the finest examples of Pop Art. In fact, Paolozzi played a key role in establishing this art genre in the UK.

Aside from paintings, prints and sculptures, you may be familiar with Paolozzi's work and not know it. He designed the mosaics in Tottenham Court Road Tube station in central London in the early 1980s.

You'll be pleased to know we stock Paolozzi print, "Palace of Westminster".

Finding an Alfred Cohen art prints

Alfred Cohen, lived in Chicago until 1949. He moved to Europe, mainly working in Paris until 1960. He then spent the rest of his life in England from then until his death in 2001. He fell in love with Europe, inspired both by his reading and the way Hollywood portrayed the continent.

His chunky canvases were in demand for several years. French art critics labelled his style as 'intimist'. Note we sell the Alfred Cohen print, "The Best Room", painted in 1997.

The School House Gallery, Wighton, North Norfolk, previously his studio location is now home to the Alfred Cohen Art Foundation. Permanently featuring his varied art works, it's well worth a visit.
