Brighton Festival Fringe is one of the largest and fastest-growing open access arts festival in the world and the largest in England. Nvisage have been working with the Fringe since 2005 as their web design, development and online marketing team. In that time we have re-designed their site each year and added new functionality such as e-ticketing to benefit their diverse audiences.
In previous years we have improved the visitor benefits by creating the online box office and benefitted performers by creating an online registration and payment facility. This year the remit was to focus very much upon the visitor journeys and user experience to improve the number of ticket sales online.
We’ve created a new greatly improved listings search – Fringle. This year we've prioritised the search and focused upon usability offering an unparalleled choice of search techniques from a simple text box (keyword search) to calendar, genre and predictive event and venue searching.
We've always enabled BFF to get the right data out to third party sites to help promote the festival - this year we've added iPhone services, bus companies, box office systems and more sites to the mix. By Pushing data out to even more external sources traffic and sales will increase.
A core benefit to the management team has been integrating a significant level of management processes with the website to manage their annual workload. Everything from financial reporting, proofing and brochure preparation, enabling external applications and box office integration through to the web site frontend and ticket buying processes are all powered by the same data systems behind the scenes.
Year on year we are helping the Fringe to make cost savings and reach out further to a wider range of audiences. We focus upon real world needs and user benefits and provide tangible benefits by creating efficient technology and engaging user-centric design. The Fringe continues to beat records every year for the number of visitors to the site and the number of tickets sold through the site. Overall a GREAT SUCCESS.
